Hello, this is my story

Hi, my name is Shelly and I am the General Manager here at the Gymnastics Academy of Rockford. During my youth years, I competed here at the academy on the Tumbling and Trampoline Team which eventually led me to a recreational instructor. With most of my teen years spent here as well my passion for working with children grew immensely. I became a site director at the Y.M.C.A for before and after school care programs. During my twenties, I took a chance and moved to the suburbs to continue my passion for working with children and being closer to parts of my family.

 

As most of you know my brother (Matt) is the head coach of the Tumbling and Trampoline Team. He had asked me for quite some time to come back and help out with classes on my days off and I always passed on the opportunity. In January that changed and I came back to GAR. This took me into my position now. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to work in the same place that molded me into the woman I am today. GAR has and always will be a place to call home.
