Hi! My name is Claire Joyce, and I’m so excited to be leading the After School Club here at GAR!

​

I live in Rockford with my husband and graduated from Illinois State University in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Services. I bring several years of experience working with children and families, including seven years as a Summer Camp Director, experience as a Preschool Director, and now overseeing childcare programming here at GAR.

​

My top priorities for After School Club are safety, connection, communication, and FUN! After a long day at school, I want our kids to have a place where they can unwind, be active, spend time with friends, get creative, and feel comfortable being themselves.

​

Building strong relationships with both our kids and their families is incredibly important to me. I believe parents should feel connected to what is happening in their child’s day, and I’m committed to creating a program where families feel welcomed, informed, and confident in the care their child is receiving.

​

When I’m not at GAR, you’ll most likely find me traveling (I’m also a full-time travel agent and owner of Wanderlust Travel Company!) or spending time with my adorable three-year-old twin nieces.

I’m so excited for a great school year and can’t wait to get to know all of our After School Club kids and families!
