Meet The Camp Directors

Claire Joyce & Hannah Miller

Hi Campers!

Hi! My name is Claire Joyce, and I’m so excited to be leading summer camp here at GAR!

I live in Rockford with my husband and graduated from Illinois State University in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Services. I bring several years of leadership experience to GAR, including seven years as a Summer Camp Director in Roscoe and experience as a Preschool Director. Working with children and building strong relationships with families has always been a passion of mine.

My top priorities this summer are safety, connection, and of course — FUN! I am committed to creating an environment where every child feels welcomed, supported, and excited to come to camp each day.

When I’m not at GAR, you’ll most likely find me traveling (I’m also a full-time travel agent and owner of Wanderlust Travel Company!) or spending time with my adorable three-year-old twin nieces.

I am truly looking forward to an incredible summer filled with memories, laughter, and growth. I can’t wait to connect with all of our amazing campers and families!

___

Hi everyone! I’m Hannah, and I’m thrilled to be directing summer camp at GAR this year! This is my second year directing and my seventh year in the summer camp community.

I grew up in Beloit, WI, and now live in the Rockford area. I’ll be graduating in May from UW–Milwaukee with my Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders and when I'm not at camp, you’ll find me being a book worm or spending time with friends and family.

I’m passionate about creating a safe, engaging, and memorable experience for every camper, while helping kids make forever friends and unforgettable memories. I can’t wait for sunny days, big smiles, and a summer full of fun!
